Discovering your Inner Mentor in Times of Crisis (Chiron and the Nodes: New Moon in Aries)

I believe the soul never dies and that it weaves a story throughout our lives.  The soul wants to evolve and is seeking conditions to foster this evolutionary intent.  Enter astrology, such a useful tool but, oh, so misunderstood. Astrology can ‘do’ many things, but what it does not do is cause or determine events in our lives. What it can do is shine a light on the developing story of our soul and reflect truths back to us. These TRUTHS help us to nurture our soul’s growth.  Exploring your soul’s intention for evolution is relevant to us here on Earth right now as Chiron is fresh from its contact with the Nodes of the Moon, and is where the NEW MOON in Aries will land.

Let’s get technical: What’s happening...

The Nodes of the Moon (not a body in space but a mathematical point of intersection between the orbit of the sun and moon) speak to us about our karmic necessities for evolution. The South Node is our lineage, a storehouse of memories brought into this lifetime that underlie our behaviours. At times they can manifest as habits and patterns. Although they can serve us, like any ‘comfort zone’ they can also keep us stuck. Awareness is key. Enter ASTROLOGY. 

The North Node is where we need to go in order to evolve. It symbolizes the horizons we are being called to explore in order to fulfill our destiny in this lifetime. The North node calls on us to be brave and look past our limitations, not in an effort to abandon our South Node gifts entirely, but to face North. This is our direction, especially useful to those who feel LOST or are SEEKING MEANING.

Up until Covid-19, most of our time has been participating in public spheres (South Node in Capricorn) working and keeping busy with whatever our life has called upon us to do, basically living with a poverty consciousness where nothing is ever enough. This has been our default position. Now everything has changed and here you are, here we are...home. North Node in Cancer wants us to be here. At. Home. Me myself and I. We are SUPPOSED to be here nurturing ourselves and those close to us.

Now enter Chiron (a centaur who was half man, half horse). Chiron has been talking to the Nodes of the Moon. Quite sharply actually, so pay attention. He’s asking us to look at our  deepest wounds we carry within, those that live below the surface, that never seem to go away and what must live with. The wounds that are easy to forget when we humans are in default mode, only reminded when we relive a situation that touches this soft spot. Once that happens, we act out as if the wounding happened yesterday.  For me it is about my ten year old self who, as a super sensitive Cancer/Pisces, gets feelings hurt when any type of exclusion or injustice is perceived - it can be so visceral. Chiron is where we feel rejection.

It is through our own pain that we are reminded that we live - so pay attention.  Here is where the meaningful work can happen as awareness occurs. You know these wounds intimately, you carry them with you, they make you the ‘expert’ on the subject.

Sit down. Be quiet and still 

Allow yourself to feel

Visualize yourself outside of your body looking down. You are not this body.

Now ask: How would you help this person who hurts?

It is in this answer that you may unlock the key to your power to heal others, to become a MENTOR to another. 

Currently we have been given a great gift...TIME….

Don’t waste it. Find your inner mentor.

This is not to fix yourself, but to serve and uplift others.
